Full Figured Fashion Week

Plus Sized fashions are finally taking into consideration that women who are larger than a size 14 (US/Can) want to look and feel just as fashionable as smaller sized women.  Retailers like Avenue, Addition-Elle, Ashley Stewart, Voluptuous Clothing and IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel are leading the way in plus sized fashion.

I have been in love with fashion my entire life and having worked in the industry as a model and assistant buyer I have to admit that I was always not impressed with the lack of representation of average sized and plus sized women in the industry.  Full Figured Fashion Week recently took place in New York City earlier this summer. With Los Angeles set to host the show October 28-30, 2010 and dates yet to be determined in Canada, this is definitely step in the right direction.  Shows representing styles for women of curvy sizes are an important need in fashion and the retail business.  Many women who are larger sized don't have any ideas how to put styles together or even where to find some of the latest trends.  Fashion shows like this are a great way to showcase trends and feature models of all shapes and sizes.
