2014 SAG Award Style

Kerry Washington in Prada.
The 2014 SAG Awards took place on January 18, 2014 and as usual the celebrities didn't hold back when it came to their style on the red carpet.  Kerry Washington opted to expose her baby bump by wearing a crop top by Prada.  It was a fuchsia embellished top worn with a high-waisted deep blue skirt.  The actress walked confidently and proudly showed off her pregnant figure while likely ruffling some feathers for going against tradition when it comes to maternity wear.

Julia Roberts also had people talking when she chose to wear a red Valentino jumpsuit.  This isn't the first time someone has worn a jumpsuit to the event.  Rose Byrne did it bravely at the 2012 SAG Awards in a white Elie Saab.  Rising star Lupita Nyong'o did it again by looking flawless wearing an aqua Gucci gown with floral detailing at the neckline.  The actress has been making headlines for her performance in 12 Years A Slave as well as for her sense of fashion.

Sofia Vergara stayed true to her style and was sizzling on the red carpet in a strapless, low-back Donna Karan Atelier.  The Modern Family star told E! "I'm wearing Donna Karan and I feel very, like, sexy. Very Jessica Rabbit.  Like an old Jessica Rabbit."

Lupita Nyong'o in Miu Miu Spring Campaign

Lupita in Miu Miu's spring 2014 campaign.

Lupita Nyongo's star just keeps on shining brighter and brighter.  As she continues to become the fashion industry's muse, things just got better for the actress and star of 12 Years A Slave.  Miu Miu recently debuted their new spring campaign with the Kenyan beauty featured alongside other notables Elle Fanning, Elizabeth Olson and Bella Heathcote.  The campaign is certainly a bold expression of diversity both in beauty and in the way they convey the fashion sense of the brand.

STYLE | Golden Globe Style

Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren.
The Golden Globe Awards were held last night with no shortage of stunners on the red carpet.  By far one of the favorites of the night was 12 Years A Slave actress and Nominee Lupita Nyong'o.  She wore a red bare-shoulder, caped gown by Ralph Lauren that was simply ravishing.  It was a standout that had everyone talking.

It was also a night when the women who were expecting pulled out all the punches when it comes to looking fabulous during pregnancy. Olivia Wilde's emerald, sequined Gucci gown was enough to rival anyone's dress on the red carpet.  She confidently showed off her belly with a dress that didn't hide anything.  The slinky gown skimmed over her belly and still had a hint of sex appeal.

Drew Barrymore was also showing off her growing baby bump in a dress by Jenny Peckham.  The style was less body hugging and rather draped comfortably over her belly.  She looked fun and whimsical representing the true spirit of her off-beat personality.

Scandal star Kerry Washington, who publicly announced her pregnancy before Scandal wrapped for winter break, looked radiant and was filled with joy as she spoke to the press on the red carpet.  When chatting with E! News she proudly said, "I feel like I have the best date of the night, my little accessory here."

Meanwhile Emma Watson took a risk wearing an open back dress by Dior that revealed a pair of skinny pants underneath.  Some loved it while others hated it.  It was certainly a conversation piece.

Some of the looks at the awards last night were less than spectacular according to some sources.  Many thought Paula Patton's big ruffled dress was just too much and actually distracting more than anything.  Edie Falco who usually looks great in a bold colour like red actually was swallowed up in her Lanvin dress which didn't seem to hug her in the right places.  There were several other misses, but sometimes bad press is still good press for these ladies of the red carpet.
