Bundle Up in Style

Military inspired looks continue to dominate this season.
Choosing the best coat to keep you warm and stylish is perhaps one of most challenging tasks when shopping.  My suggestion is to have three coats for this season.  One casual, a professional look and the go-to for those sub-zero temps.  Some of the key trends for the season include bright color, military styling, mixed textures and patterns.

For that professional look keep the styling simple and choose colors and textures that give a modern feel.  Silhouettes that are classic like a trench inspired look have a lasting appeal and can be worn for years to come.  When staving off the bitter cold, finding down filled, water-resistant jackets are usually best.  Fighting the bitter cold also is about layering the right clothing under your jacket.

Cozy Up in Chunky Knits

Winter 2011 Collection H&M
There's nothing better than getting cozy in a chunky sweater.  This season there are plenty of stylish options available.  Fast fashion retailer H&M has a collection with colors in shades of brown and beige that are neutrals easily mixed into your wardrobe.  You'll remember that last year Dolce & Gabbana featured Nordic inspired patterns for their winter collection.  That trend still holds true this year.

If you're looking for something that's warm, cozy and bright, Benetton has what you're looking for.  Many people shy away from bold colors in the winter months but, doing the exact opposite should be your style statement this year.  For those who want to stay neutral, classic colors (grey, black, white, beige) are available in all styles at most locations.
