Eco Fashion Week Vancouver

By Stamo
Eco Fashion Week recently took place in Vancouver B.C.  Admired for it's natural landscape, Vancouver is a place known to have residents that are aware and concerned with taking care of the environment. (aka 'tree huggers') It's only natural that designers from around the world who are focused on using environmentally friendly fabrics and using fair trade practices came together to showcase their latest collections.

In order to qualify as an Eco designer for this event they had to meet strict criteria; fair & ethical trade, use organic textiles and materials, can use recycled or re-purposed materials, vintage and Eco-certification.

Designers included, Prophetik, Lav & Kush, Lara Presber, By Stamo, Pur Pod and Red Jade.

This video below was not filmed during the Eco-Fashion Week in Vancouver but it is the Spring Summer 2011 collection of Prophetik. They are an Eco-conscious label that was featured during the Eco-Fashion Week in Vancouver.  Birthed out of Franklin, Tennessee, this fashion label uses hemp, flax and other organic certified materials to create their romantic inspired collections.
