Summer Shoes by Brian Atwood

Aurora Open Toe with Handmade Silk Flowers
Brian Atwood Spring 2011

Brian Atwood is a designer best known for creating shoes with sex appeal.  With a career that started as a model on the runways of Europe, Atwood has worked with some of the best in the industry.  Not just another handsome face, he studied fashion at F.I.T. in New York just before his modeling career took off.  After seven years as a model he made the transition into design by becoming the first American designer hired by Versace.  After successfully working for both Versace and Versus, Atwood launched his own label in 2001.  Since then, he has gone on to create for celebrities and those in the fashion know.  By 2003 he was recognized by the CFDA by winning the Swarovsky Perry Ellis Award for Accessory Design and in 2007 he became creative director for Bally.  In 2010 he left Bally to focus on designing for his own label.

In a recent interview with, he said that he designs for a confident woman.  With bold colors, stilettos and platform looks, the designs demand a woman who is not afraid of going against the norm.  She's fashion forward and always on the cutting edge of style.
