Too Much Too Young

Many argue that young girls are doing too much too soon. In a time when celebrities are their idols, many young girls try to emulate their favorite celebrities through clothing and beauty.


TLC is currently airing a reality series called "Toddlers and Tiaras", which features three families and how they train, coach and sometimes force their daughters into beauty pageants for little girls. In the opinion of some this show does nothing but re-enforce the ideal that girls should be thought of as beautiful before anything else.


As marketers catch on to this trend, they continue to target even younger through products and services. In Florida, CNN recently covered a story about a Spa for girls as young as 3 years old. Willing parents, including the Spa’s owner, don’t see this as a problem.
