How to Break in a New Pair of Shoes

When it comes to fashion and style, shoes are one of the most important elements to any outfit.  I spent years working in the footwear business and saw thousands of women over the years who all suffered what I call the 'first day of shoe blues'.

Here's a tip someone I worked with shared.  Wear a pair of sport socks with brand new heels around the house the day you buy them.  The slight thickness of the sock will 'break in the shoe' before you torture yourself going out for the first time.

Also remember that your feet are smallest in the morning.  So it's not a good idea to purchase shoes then because by the end of the day your feet will be killing you. No lie.  Shoes should be purchased from mid-afternoon on to get the best fit.

And if you need insoles to keep the balls of your feet from killing you when you're in high heels, check out the new product by Insolia.  http://insolia.com/  Dr.Oz recently featured the product on an episode of his show.

And that's the tip of the day!
