Women in Tuxes

Beyonce in Dolce & Gabbana at MTV VMA's

It may seem like a man's world but, as James Brown once sang, "It wouldn't be nothing without a woman or a girl."  We definitely see that in women's fashion.  It seems that the trend of menswear tailoring always makes it's way into women's closets.  Women always manage to make those suits look even better.  This season is no different.  Women spotted wearing classic tuxedo inspired looks and suits that take details from men's suiting are on the rise.  Even singer Beyonce was seen wearing a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo the night she announced her pregnancy live at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Many women are turning to this look as an option for cocktail parties and even black tie events.  Earlier this year we saw Anne Hathaway still look glamorous in a custom made tuxedo by Lanvin as she co-hosted the Oscars.  The key to rocking this look is by having it tailored to fit your body and adding feminine details like the right shoes and accessories.
