Essence Magazine Hires White Fashion Director

In a move that is sure to spark controversy, Essence Magazine has hired a White Fashion Director for the first time in it's 40 year history.  For a magazine that celebrates Black Women this is a decision that will certainly be a topic of heated conversation.

Wow, this is unbelievable. I have been reading Essence my whole life and have always been proud of the fact it was run by people of color. With so few jobs for Black women in Fashion I can't believe this has happened. I guess since the magazine is no longer Black-owned, anything can happen
