Black History Month - Spring According to Tracy Reese

Anyone who knows my love for fashion should be aware that Tracy Reese has been one of my all time favorite American designers.  She is one of the most successful African-American designers in the last decade.  This Detroit native has the ability to create amazing clothing for women.  Her collection for spring 2011 is inspired by looks of the seventies.  The show opened with a beautiful white above the knee dress that had a gorgeous cutout detail in the back.  Just enough sex appeal without being racy.

Reese showed an assortment of dresses in various lengths.  From maxi to tea length to above the knee each dress had it's own unique style to it.  Seventies inspiration was obvious in the flared pants, floppy hats and bold prints.  Hair was long and parted in the middle while natural textures were blown out.  Reese said that her clothing was designed for a glamorous trip.  It was the look of arriving at an exotic destination with a little bit of seventies vibe.

I loved the entire collection with bold prints, colors and sleek silhouettes.
